First Gathering, NYC October 4, 2009

Officially declared to be a great success, the first (and we hope not the last?) gathering of Mosolino cousins took place in New York City on Sunday, October 4, 2009.

Special thanks to:

• Kaylie, for igniting the fire with the publication of her new book, and being our first guest of honor (and taking the time to sign all our copies). • Edith, for initiating the search for long lost cousins by alerting us to the publication of Kaylie's book,


• Joe, for taking the long detour from Tampa to Seattle by way of NYC to join us for the gathering, and


• Aunt Pat, for the use of her apartment which was such a great venue, and for being a such a gracious hostess.

Perhaps the highlight of the evening was cousin Joe's recounting of his adventure to Gambarie in Calabria, Italy where he uncovered information about our Mosolino ancestors. Turns out we are mis-labeled as the original name was in fact Musolino [weren't those guys at Ellis Island creative?]. He also dug into the story of our supposed relative the brigante, and found that he was related although distantly.
