More Mosolino History

I finally located the ship manifest from the Ellis Island records for the arrival of Musolinos. The ship was the Algeria, arriving August 9, 1902 from Naples.
Dominico was not on this ship. His wife (my great grandmother) Maria traveled under her maiden name, Mercurio. Who knows why? Also her age is listed as 42, which seems questionable. The children traveling with her were Antonio (8), Caterina (6), Giovianni(4) and Domenico(2), all with Musolino as last name. Last residence was listed as Montebello. Maria was joining her husband Domenico at 166 Elisabeth St. so he must have arrived previously. However, the only record I find for him is Dominic Musolino age 31 arriving on the Massilia from Naples on April 16, 1904 going to 143 Mulbury St, previously from Reggio Calabria.

Mark A. Mosolino, 77, of Pottsville, passed away Friday at Community Medical Center, Scranton.Born in Pottsville, Aug. 19, 1932, he was a son of the late Anthony and Gertrude Parton Mosolino.Mark was a 1950 graduate of Mercersburg Academy and a graduate of Syracuse University. He was a decorated Army veteran, having served during the Korean War.He owned and operated Fuel & Tank Cleaning Services, Susquehanna.Mark was of the Catholic faith.Mark was preceded in death by his wife, Anne McGrory Mosolino, who passed in 1995; and two sisters, Mary Mosolino and Gloria Mosolino.He is survived by a daughter, Anne Mittmann, wife of Frank, Montrose; five sons, Anthony, Susquehanna, Mark, husband of Jennifer, Pound Ridge, N.Y., Joseph, Oak Harbor, Wash., Philip, husband of Michele, Carbondale, and Michael, husband of Julie, Southampton, N.Y.; his fiancee, Lois Mengel, Pottsville; six grandchildren; and his brother, Anthony Breslin, Pittsburgh. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Church, Fourth and Mahantongo Streets, Pottsville. There will be no calling hours before the Mass. Interment will be held in Charles Baber Cemetery, Pottsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hillside SPCA, Hillside Road, Pottsville, PA 17901. Florence Curtice 1915-2009

Our mom passed away quietly in her sleep early Tuesday morning after a long and satisfying life. She was 94 this past October. She loved all her family and particularly her grandchildren Scott, Corrie, Jennifer and Eric, who was at her bed-side until shortly before her death. We will all remember her as an active person, a great cook, and wonderful hostess; and of course the perfect partner for her beloved Ed.

For the past 6 years she was a resident at Schuyler Ridge Residential Health Care in Clifton Park, N.Y., where she received excellent care; we are extremely grateful to the staff at Schuyler Ridge for the love and attention they showed Florie, who was one of their favorite residents. We also appreciate the care provided by The Community Hospice in the last several weeks.

Mom had long ago decided to bequeath her body to the Albany Medical College for educational and research purposes. A remembrance service will be held at Schuyler Ridge on the morning of Monday December 28. If you wish, you can make a donation in her name to:
