Yet Another Cousin
Out of the blue I received a nice e-mail from cousin Michael Mosolino, the one who is the son of Jack (John), son of William (Uncle Bill). Apparently he saw the blog while searching the internet! Michael lives in Illinois as did his father who moved out there many years ago.
Sadly, he reported that his dad passed away last week: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/nwherald/obituary.aspx?n=john-mosolino-jack&pid=155562121&fhid=7618
I am also remiss in reporting the passing of cousin Ken last February:
http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/northjersey/obituary.aspx?n=anthony-mosolino&pid=148658276
Anyway Michael sent along these photos.

His dad as most of us (older) cousins knew him. and a 1977 photo of his dad and mother.
Then below, of he and his brother Bill with their mother, his grandfather in football garb, and his grandfather Bill (in the opening) and brother Bill with his mother and her parents. He promised to send me updates to the family tree and tell us more about himself and his family in the near future. Stay tuned!

Keeping in Touch
Hello Cousin!
It's been a while, so here is a new Post. Also note I decided to add the Curtice side of the family to this blog. Welcome Curtice cousins; look forward to hearing from you.
I trust everyone is well, despite the ravages of age (I think I need to get my torn meniscus fixed soon, it's hampering my tennis and golf game). Gerry and I enjoyed our recent trip to Hilton Head (great golf) with side visits to Savannah and Charleston. Our next sojourn will be in September to Sedona and Scottsdale (more golf!).
As you can see, grandson Nathan is now eight months old and a chubby, healthy boy. He will be going on his first flight with parents Scott and Julie next week to Florida for a short vacation.

.
Corrie just turned 40 and is off to Rome with her mom for a few days of sightseeing. She's doing well as an environmental researcher at the Duke U. Marine Lab in Beaufort, N.C. Of course she misses her nephew
Lot's of changes at John's: he retired (mostly) and is selling the house in Albany. He and Kathy will spend winter in Florida and then decide where to settle in the warm months; his dream is to get a boat large enough to live on up North somewhere. And Jen and Ben have decided to move from snowy Buffalo to warm(er) Raleigh area sometime in August. We wish them well and look forward to visiting once they are settled.
Keep well, and love to hear from you.
Cousin Robert

Mosolino/Curtice Florida Fest - 2010
On Wednesday February 4, 2010, some cousins gathered in the (not so) warm Florida weather for a delightful repast at the cottage rented by Corrie and her mom Joan for part of January and February on Siesta Key, near Sarasota. In addition to the locals: Ken and Edith, Michael and Pam, we were joined by John and Kathy's daughter Jennifer (who took this great group photo), her husband Ben, and son Eric.

Aunt Pat and Uncle Lou drove over from their condo in Delray Beach to join us. Everyone brought some food (great sausage and peppers from Edith, wonderful ruggalah from Pat, and special liverwurst that John got at the local butcher). Gerry and I enjoyed the get-together so much we decided to do it again the following night and brought our friends Bob and Rose Silverio who had a great time with the family. Actually we had so much food left over from the first night we didn't need to get any more!
A great time was had by all - who knows maybe we will do it again next year.

More Mosolino History
I finally located the ship manifest from the Ellis Island records for the arrival of Musolinos. The ship was the Algeria, arriving August 9, 1902 from Naples.
Dominico was not on this ship. His wife (my great grandmother) Maria traveled under her maiden name, Mercurio. Who knows why? Also her age is listed as 42, which seems questionable. The children traveling with her were Antonio (8), Caterina (6), Giovianni(4) and Domenico(2), all with Musolino as last name. Last residence was listed as Montebello. Maria was joining her husband Domenico at 166 Elisabeth St. so he must have arrived previously. However, the only record I find for him is Dominic Musolino age 31 arriving on the Massilia from Naples on April 16, 1904 going to 143 Mulbury St, previously from Reggio Calabria.
You can see the original ship manifest here:
